We stayed at the Island Pacific for 3 nights on our way back to Australia from Europe. The location of the hotel was away from the frenetic pace of Central and we enjoyed being in a local neighbourhood where very few spoke English but we still managed to make ourselves understood and had meals at the local cafes and restaurants. The staff at the Island Pacific were friendly and efficient and made us feel very welcome. We booked a harbour view room and watched the ferries and helicopters crossing the harbour. We got excellent value for the cost of our visit and would definitely stay there again.

From the moment I got there, I was treated well, staff were very helpful, in a friendly way, which is very good when you are in a foreign country. Courtesy goes a long way to make people feel comfortable. The service was impeccable always attentive to their customers.

We did enjoy our stay at Island Pacific Hotel. Some of the staffs could speak English well and gave us instructions to some places we liked to visit. It may be not be a walking distance from the city center, but never a hindrance, since trams pass by, and besides, the hotel has a shuttle service that goes to and from the city center.

The hotel location is relative far from MTR station (the nearest one is Sheung Wan) however the tram station is nearby so transportation is not a matter especially hotel also provides free shuttle bus to IFC Mall (access to Airport Express and Central MTR station) regularly. Noted some good things about the hotel are clean room and hotel, pleasant concierge staffs, hotel front liner staffs are able to speak English, the 7 eleven store and restaurants are nearby.

We stayed a brief one night on 19 Oct '09. Very pleased with upgrade to executive room with partial harbour view. Though hotel is not near MTR station, it is quite accessible by tram (HKD2 per ride). 3 blocks away, public bus E11(fare: HKD 21 per pax) takes us to airport in 40 mins. My daughter wants to stay there again. Hope to be upgraded again when we go there again in Feb 2010.

By walking from the MTR is quite a distance. In fact the hotel provide free shuttle service to certain places including the Ferry Terminal, but we were not aware till after we checked out. I suggest the hotel should put a signage or give the guest the shutter bus schedule upon check-in. We booked a standard room for 2 nights, due to room full they upgrade us to the Deluxe room for free. We are very happy with this arrangement. Overall I am satisfy with this hotel, and for sure we will come back again.
