Calicoan Island Calicoan is an island bounded by the Pacific Ocean on the East, and Leyte Gulf on the West.

With its rugged landscape, virgin tropical forests, unspoiled white sand beaches, crystal clear water and surf, Calicoan is a must-see for the adventurous traveler or intrepid surfer.

ABCD Beach boasts both left-hand and right-hand waves.

Surfing season runs from April to November.

Summer months are perfect for learners with gentle 2 to 3 foot waves, while the latter months offer bigger and more challenging waves.

Board rentals are available as are surf lessons upon request.

GETTING THERE From Manila : Regular commercial flights fly daily to Tacloban. Transfers can be arranged to The Surf Camp From Cebu Take one of several daily fast ferry trips to Ormoc. Transfers to The Surf Camp can be arranged. The Surf Camp has private planes to fly guests round trip Cebu/Guiuan/Cebu at $150 per person, no layover charge. The 7,000 foot runway is only 15 minutes from the resort.

I was instantly welcomed by a ringing of the gong and Danny who gave us shell leis. We went to the main dining area where we got a cold towel for our face and a drink. We then were escorted to our cottage where our bags were waiting. We had many meals here, and the staff was very accommodating. The cottages were AMAZING. Air conditioning was cool, bathrooms clean with great water pressure. Staff was so friendly and warm, and we really got to know them and knew us by name and joked around with us as well. We will for sure be back!
