Lagen Island is located in the eastern side of the bay, its land area of 310 hectares making it the fourth biggest island in the protected area. Lagen is a local Cuyunin word for "stone stove" and the island was named Lagen because to the locals, its shape resembles a primitive stove with funnels. In one of the coves in the island, offering the best view of the bay and the sunset, is El Nido Resorts Lagen Island. It is the only resort in the island and the second resort under the El Nido Resorts banner. It is also the most luxurious resort in the area. Lagen Island is accessible only by boat. It is a 50 minute scenic ride from El Nido Airport.
